Anslow was started in 1986 by Mr Robert Lindsey Shaw and was originally named Shavian Management Consultants. It began as an insurance consulting business and its first major client was Hannover Reinsurance Company (Germany) followed shortly thereafter by an appointment as consultants to the Joint Liquidators of AA Mutual Short-Term Insurance Business in Liquidation.
Anslow opened the South African contact office for Hannover Re in 1986 and in 1999 transferred the portfolio to Hollandia Reinsurance Company Limited which merged the two entities to form Hannover Reinsurance Africa Limited.
Over time Anslow has set up and managed a number of insurance businesses from Brokers to Underwriting Managers to Insurers. It has been a consulting firm in the insurance industry for over 50 years and has helped form insurance companies, amend licence conditions, assist with management structures, set up subsidiaries, hire key personnel, draft Corporate Governance policies, draft insurance policies and wordings and create insurance products.
